Under the authority of the Fire Safe Council of San Diego County, we are a newly formed FSC dedicated to educating and preparing our community in order to avoid devastating fires.

To provide an exchange of information through education and training, and to foster fire prevention and safety throughout the San Diego region.

The vision of the Fire Safe Council of San Diego County is to foster a fire safe/fire wise region that has developed through an ongoing course of public education, training, and community collaboration in project support.
Goals:

⦁ To provide a platform for promoting fire prevention and safety efforts for all stakeholders.

Actions to date:
Developed bylaws written and approved by the Fire Safe Council of San Diego County, submitted a Draft Community Wildfire Protection Plan, Received a $2,500 grant from SDG&E to provide an Educational Flyer to be sent out to over 7,000 GMIA area households that is a collaboration of tips on how to be fire wise, safe, information on who to call, who we are, a copy of an evacuation map, and information on the San Diego County Notification and Evacuation app.

San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, Grossmont-Mt. Helix Improvement Association, Valle de Oro Planning Group, Casa De Oro Alliance, and community members.
Collaboration:
San Miguel Fire and Rescue, Cal Fire, San Diego County Sheriff, San Diego Gas & Electric, and the Fire Safe Council of San Diego County.
